QUALIFICATIONS

Stephen Chow is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional with over 10 years experience in the mutual fund industry. Prior to joining GIC Financial Services, Stephen was employed with a large fund company, where he held key roles in management and sales.

INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY

In 1999, Stephen attended a Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. Warren Buffett was the keynote speaker, and proceeded to lay out the groundwork for creating wealth. This event proved foundational in forming Stephen’s commitment to value investing:

1. Invest in good businesses
2. Do not overpay for these businesses
3. Hold good businesses for as long as you can

Stephen favours value style managers who focus on good businesses at fair prices. Wise consumers intuitively practice this concept as they look to buy quality products at bargain prices.  This concept of "buying at a discount" is of utmost importance to value investors.

PERSONAL

Stephen lives in Ancaster with his wife Sylvie. He enjoys staying physically active, playing golf, travel, and spending time with his daughter Madeline.
